After 24 years of working with local schools, industry partners and the wider community to improve outcomes for our young people, CGLLEN is facing an uncertain future.

A recent funding restructure has significantly changed the financial landscape of LLENs across the state by removing the backbone support our organisations rely on to remain operational. Many LLENs, including ours, are facing closure if they cannot secure alternative funding. This would result in our young people losing access to vital industry engagement programs and activities that help them connect with a diverse range of local industries and employers, build confidence and prepare for the workforce. The restructure also has substantial flow on effects for our other programs. While all program implementation remains unchanged for 2026, the future of MATES Mentoring, Resilient Ararat, Passport to Employment and VIC VICE is uncertain. Our TAC L2P Program is funded by its own contract and Council sponsorships and will remain in place until at least 30 June 2027.

We believe these programs are worth fighting for. In addition to applying for external grants, we have launched the Fund their Futures campaign in hopes of generating enough support to remain open beyond 2027.
